Cut Christmas Trees out – Use a tree-shaped cookie cutter to cut as many trees as possible from a sheet of dough.
Place them on a baking sheet coated with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Spread pizza sauce, sprinkle with cheese, then top with pepperoni and bell pepper pieces.
Bake - Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and puffy.
You can use pizza dough, however I can tell you from personal experience that it was quite difficult to carve out the trees since the dough was far too soft and sticky. If you decide to attempt preparing these with pizza dough, I recommend freezing it for 20 to 30 minutes. This should facilitate the removal of the trees.
Use a modest amount of toppings, as the puff pastry will rise in the oven. As toppings, you can use whatever you like. If you dislike green pepper, eliminate it entirely or substitute a few olive slices.
Substitute mini pepperonis for the sausage sticks.
Due to the small size of these pizzas, you will only need a few teaspoons of pizza sauce. I prepared mine by combining dried oregano, tomato sauce, garlic, and olive oil. You can use any pizza sauce you choose, but if you don't have any, this one will work just fine.
If using the Pizzello Forte Gas, the baking time for these mini Christmas tree pizzas is roughly 15 minutes. However, this does not imply that it cannot take longer. Every oven bakes differently, and the thickness of your puff pastry may differ from the one I used, so while making them for the first time, keep a close eye on them.
Depending on the size of your Christmas tree cutter, the number of pizzas you can make out of a puff pastry will vary.
