When most people think of pizza, pepperoni is their first thought. Obviously, there's nothing wrong with pepperoni pizza, but I've been experimenting with this Spicy Sausage Pizza and I believe it can hold its own against any other pizza topping. This is especially true if honey is used as a dipping sauce. This pizza is an excellent addition to your arsenal of handmade pizzas.

There are other pizza dough recipes available, but for my money (and time), No-Knead Pizza Dough is the best. Typically, I'll prepare it the day before so that it has ample time to rise slowly. Then, I remove it from the refrigerator at least an hour prior to making pizza so it may reach room temperature.
If you do not wish to make your own dough, you can get it at most supermarkets or, if you have a local pizzeria, they will likely sell you a few dough balls for a few dollars.
This pizza has minimal toppings, however it is vital not to overtop the pie. Add just enough sauce to lightly coat the dough and just enough cheese to cover the pizza without piling the cheese.
Find a high-quality, spicy Italian sausage and break it into extremely small meatballs. Small meatballs are necessary to ensure that the sausage cooks thoroughly while cooking. These meatballs will cook extremely rapidly in a hot oven if they are distributed evenly on a pizza.
Other than that, I prefer to season my sausage pizza with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Add some fresh basil after the pizza comes out of the oven, and it will be wonderful!

This hot honey sauce is one of my ideas for making homemade pizza (or any handmade pizza, for that matter). It takes few seconds to combine honey, hot sauce, and red pepper flakes, and the result is always a hit. After finishing your pizza, dip the crust in this hot honey, and you'll never desire pizza dough without honey again!
Cook this pizza on a pizza stone in a 500°F oven. At minimum 20 minutes, preheat the oven so the pizza stone is heated. The pizza is then slid onto the stone.
In a conventional oven, the pizza must cook for 8 to 10 minutes in order to be thoroughly cooked. This will vary depending on the oven and pizza stone you use, so check the pizza every few minutes. Or you can grill the pizza.
If you have leftover pizza (lucky you! ), please refrain from using the microwave. The microwave will render your crust soggy, undoing all your labor. Instead, transfer the pizza to a skillet and reheat it over moderate heat. Cook for a few minutes to cook the crust. Add a lid to the skillet in the final minute to allow the cheese to melt. Be extremely cautious when taking the pizza from the pan. It will be quite warm!
